August in Greenland
A photographic series developed during a journey through Greenland, later exhibited at Carlo Cinque Gallery in Milan (May 2026).
Shot from the deck of a moving ship, the work originates from direct observation – drifting among icebergs and witnessing a landscape in transformation. The presence of polar bears on land, rather than ice, becomes an early sign of a shifting equilibrium.
From this experience, the project evolves into a series of digital collages.
Icebergs, symbols of climate fragility, turn into surreal backdrops for suspended, almost unaware human figures, caught in scenes reminiscent of leisure and vacation.
Through a dissonant and poetic use of montage, the work reflects on the contradiction of our contemporary gaze: a tension between aesthetic fascination and environmental urgency.
A visual narrative where beauty and unease coexist.
